Who moved my cheese? : an a-mazing way to deal with change in your work and in your life
Spencer Johnson; Kenneth H. BlanchardTwo are mice named Sniff and Scurry. And two are "Littlepeople" beings the size of mice who look and act a lot like people. Their names are Hem and Haw.
"Cheese" is a metaphor for what you want to have in life whether it's a good job, a loving relationship, money, a possession, health, or spiritual peace of mind.
And the "Maze" is where you look for what you want the organisation you work in or the family or community you live in.
In the story, the characters are faced with unexpected change. Eventually, one of them deals with it successfully, and writes what he has learned from his experience on the Maze walls.
When you come to see "The Handwriting on the Wall," you can discover for yourself how to deal with change, so that you can enjoy less stress and more success (however you define it) in your work and in your life.
Written for all ages, the story takes less than an hour to read, but its unique insights can last for a lifetime.

The one minute manager / Kenneth Blanchard, Spencer Johnson
Kenneth H. Blanchard, Spencer Johnson, Kenneth Blanchard
This definitely feels to me like there were a few good ideas puffed up with lots of words and air to make a longer book. Anyone who needs this info doesn't need all that storytelling and wants the info in the most effective form not in some long drawn-out storyline. It also feels like it was a set-up for more books at big prices to present info that could have been presented effectively in one book. I am very glad I got this out of my local library instead of buying it!

This book kick started my interested in controlling your own finance but I realize something is amiss when I finished the book, I am lost. I do not know what's the next step to take. Luckily for me, I noted down one of the books he mentioned, The richest man in babylon and went to amazon and bought the book. It took me a while before I start reading. Tell people there's a bargain for a certain property and fail to teach them how to locate one is particularly dangerous. There's risk in investing and Robert Kiyosaki might have advocated some of his reader to take too much risk. In today world where these financial means are available to the general public, authors of financial books have to be more responsible in their use of words. For people who...

The Power of Now : A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment
Eckhart Tolle's message is simple: living in the now is the truest path to happiness and enlightenment. And while this message may not seem stunningly original or fresh, Tolle's clear writing, supportive voice and enthusiasm make this an excellent manual for anyone who's ever wondered what exactly "living in the now" means. Foremost, Tolle is a world-class teacher, able to explain complicated concepts in concrete language. More importantly, within a chapter of reading this book, readers are already holding the world in a different container--more conscious of how thoughts and emotions get in the way of their ability to live in genuine peace and happiness.Tolle packs a lot of information and inspirational ideas into__The Power of Now__. (Topics include the source of Chi, enlightened relationships, creative use of the mind, impermanence and the cycle of life.) Thankfully, he's added markers that symbolise "break time". This is when readers should close the book and mull over what they just read. As a result,__The Power of Now__reads like the highly acclaimed__A Course in Miracles__--a spiritual guidebook that has the potential to inspire just as many study groups and change just as many lives for the better. --__Gail Hudson__
Flipped
Wendelin Van Draanen, Fan Zhuo Nan (Van Draanen, Wendelin), Draanen Wendelin Van
Wendelin Van Draanen’s highly acclaimed he-said, she-said teen romance is going to be a major motion picture. Written and directed by Rob Reiner, the film features a stellar cast, including Madeline Carroll and Callan McAuliffe as Juli and Bryce, and Aidan Quinn, Rebecca De Mornay, Anthony Edwards, Penelope Ann Miller, and John Mahoney. This movie tie-in edition will feature full-color movie stills, an interview with the author, and a preview of her next romantic comedy, Confessions of a Serial Kisser. Flipped is a romance told in two voices. The first time Juli Baker saw Bryce Loski, she flipped. The first time Bryce saw Juli, he ran. That’s pretty much the pattern for these two neighbors until the eighth grade, when, just as Juli is realizing Bryce isn’t as wonderful as she thought, Bryce is starting to see that Juli is pretty amazing. How these two teens manage to see beyond the surface of things and come together makes for a comic and poignant romance.
Tuesdays with Morrie : [an old man, a young man, and life's greatest lesson
A sportswriter conveys the wisdom of his late mentor, professor Morrie Schwartz, recounting their weekly conversations as Schwartz lay dying. Maybe it was a grandparent, or a teacher, or a colleague. Someone older, patient and wise, who understood you when you were young and searching, helped you see the world as a more profound place, gave you sound advice to help you make your way through it. For Mitch Albom, that person was Morrie Schwartz, his college professor from nearly twenty years ago. Maybe, like Mitch, you lost track of this mentor as you made your way, and the insights faded, and the world seemed colder. Wouldn't you like to see that person again, ask the bigger questions that still haunt you, receive wisdom for your busy life today the way you once did when you were younger? Mitch Albom had that second chance. He rediscovered Morrie in the last months of the older man's life. Knowing he was dying, Morrie visited with Mitch in his study every Tuesday, just as they used to back in college. Their rekindled relationship turned into one final "class", lessons in how to live. Tuesdays with Morrie is a magical chronicle of their time together, through which Mitch shares Morrie's lasting gift with the world

The little prince: written and drawn by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Translated from the French by Katherine Woods
(Wikipedia)
As a Man Thinketh

Cherish the music that stirs in your heart, the beauty that forms in your mind, the loveliness that drapes your purest thoughts, for out of them will grow all delightful conditions, all heavenly environment, of these, if you but remain true to them your world will at last be built.'' ''The soul attracts that which it secretly harbors, that which it loves, and also that which it fears. It reaches the height of its cherished aspirations. It falls to the level of its unchastened desires - and circumstances are the means by which the soul receives its own.'' ''Men are anxious to improve their circumstances, but are unwilling to improve themselves, they therefore remain bound.'' ''Every action and...
